SEO as part of the Internet Marketing umbrella
Hey again guys, I’ve been gone awhile but I haven’t forgotten you - trust me?
Well guys, I’ve been doing a lot of research on internet marketing. I’m getting ready to implement a lot of what I have learnt. I used to think of SEO by itself, but not I realise that it’s just one part of the entire internet marketing strategy that must be implemented. I enjoy what I’m reading too.
I’m learning about RSS feeds, optimizing press releases and landing pages for the search engines. I never looked so deep into these areas before. However, I have come to the conclusion that it is simply a rip off to just create a website for a client without effectively marketing their products or services online. Some clients will not initially see the reason for marketing their website, but it’s the job of the internet marketer to educate them.
Now, I want to be an internet marketer, not just a search engine optimizer. I do think it’s clever to focus on a few areas at once, of course. Let’s be honest, we’re not super people here (well, I’m not).
(I’m also brushing up on my PHP skills). There’s so much to do and so much to learn. I’m subscribed to Market Motive. They basically have online streaming videos which cover various aspects of internet marketing such as SEO, online publicity, social media, ppc and paid search, web analytics and conversion optimization. It’s really cool.
Please post your suggestions on how I can improve my internet marketing strategy, as well as your own experience with implementing your own efforts.
